- What is Hemp?
Hemp, cannabis, marijuana, hash, grass, indicia and weed are just some of the names given to one plant: Cannabis sativa. Hemp is a tall and fast growing plant, with a stem reaching from 1-5 metres high at harvest time. Hemp has been grown for its fibre and seed for thousands of years throughout the world. Hemp seed has the highest percentage of protein of any plant-based source except soybeans. And like soybeans, hemp seed can be made into food products like porridge, milk, butter and cheese.

- What is the History of Hemp?
The earliest known woven fabric (8,000-7000BC) was made of hemp. The ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Chinese and Persians all cultivated and used hemp. Up until this century, the majority of all sails, clothes, tents, towels, paper, rope, rugs, paints, varnishes, and lighting oil were made from hemp. Hemp seeds were regularly used as a source of protein. Hemp was so popular because it contains the longest and strongest fibres in the plant kingdom. It is one of the earth's most efficient converters of sunlight into biomass. Moreover, the entire plant can be used - from textile and paper products from the fibres of the stem to paint, cheese and skin care products from the oil of the seeds.

- How Do we use Hemp Seed Oil?
Hemp Seed Oil is a highly nutritious, essential hair and skin aid for promoting growth and slowing the ageing process. Hemp Seed Oil is the highest natural carrier of the combination of essential fatty acids linoleic (LA), linolenic (LNA) and gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), providing the 3:1 ratio that has been claimed the optimum balance for human health. It provides an excellent healing and moisturising process for broken or damaged skin, being particularly useful for sufferers of eczema, psoriasis and mastaligia. Hemp Seed Oil is used as a raw agent in soaps and materials, and as an emollient in body-care products. It can also be used for fuel for lighting, printers ink, and a wood preservative.
